In reading through some older posts on here, I saw that VSS will fail if you try to run it on the SQL server that holds the Veeam Backup database. This is confusing me because we are running it on our main SQL 2008 server that does have the Veeam database on it. I checked the logs to be sure there are no errors, but it shows VSS freezing and then unfreezing the server as part of the backup job. So, do the older posts no longer apply and we are OK using VSS on the SQL server that holds the Veeam Backup database?
Thanks,
Jason

Re: VSS on SQL 2008
Jason, indeed this could be the case, because Veeam Backup 4.0 had some changes around how backend SQL interaction is performed. I will ask QC if they have resources to confirm what you are seeing in the lab. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.
