Hello all
I am really new to backing up VMware and new to VMware its self. I have been watching the videos on the Veeam website in particular the "VMware and Microsoft VSS: What you need to know". My question, is it recommended to enable the VSS Services on all my VM's which I am backing up with Veeam? the server are are fileservers and SQL applications

Re: VSS services
Hello,
No need to enable anything on the Windows Server side - default settings are fine. Just enable "application-aware image processing" while configuring VM backup jobs and that's it.
Thank you.

Re: VSS services
Hello
Thank you for your reply. The default of the VSS service is manual and it is not started, so all is OK like that? I did enable "application-aware image processing" in my backup Job

Re: VSS services
Yes, that's ok. Windows OS will start them automatically when necessary.
