w2008 file level restore problem
Hi folks,
i have a problem with file level restore. W2008 server with 2 disk's, drive c ( system ) and drive e ( data ).
Backup works fine, and all of the disks ( vmdk-files ) are visible in backup. When i try a file level restore
only drive c is visible, get error: d:\ mount failed , non recognised filesystem on disk.
Veeam Backup is 3.0.1
anybody an idea ?
thx and regards
Jens

Re: w2008 file level restore problem
Hello Jens, please contact our support, we will need more information to research this. As I recall, previously similar issue was caused due to corrupted MBR (P2V-ed virtual machine).
Update: here is the thread about similar issue I was referring too:
Drive missing when trying to restore guest files

Hello Gostev, i will open a support call.
This is a new VM, not a converted. The drive i miss is a dynamic, could this
cause the problem ?

Jens, I don't believe we have any problems with dynamic disks.

We are having the same problem/error. But on a w2003 box. Was a solution found?

Re: w2008 file level restore problem
Once, it was due to corrupted MBR on virtual disk. The other time, it was an unsupported disk type. The other time, it was due to having more than 1 partition on dynamic disk (which is not supported). So for this type of issue, we usually need to investigate log files - and sometimes additional data.
