Hi,
is it necessary to setup a vpn connection from our customer to our Veeam network in our datacentre to be a destination in the wan acceleration jobs? I have a few other online backup software and they just use port 443. Can this be achieved with Veeam?

Re: wan acceleration - vpn necessary
As long as the customer site can be added to a backup console of the VB&R management server, I woudn't say the VPN is that required. As to the ports that need to opened, kindly take a look at this topic. Thanks.

Re: wan acceleration - vpn necessary
While VPN is generally not required, it is still a common practice when traffic goes over Internet (in terms of security).
