Wan accelerator cache size

Post by fquinnAPT »

Hi Guys,

We have setup a new replica job to an offsite location

the Wan accelerator cache is growing at a very large rate (almost at 1TB )

I used the Wan accelerator before and it was never as large as this

This is on a drive on the destination WAN accelerator .

Any ideas why this is so large? Anything we should be looking out for?

Do you mean it is growing beyond the configured limit? What are the settings for the cache size for this WAN accelerator?

Are there multiple source WAN accelerators (from different sites or something) that are working in combination with single target Accelerator by any chance? Thanks.

The limit is being reached and then the job is failing

It currently has 850GB assigned so I am thinking something is configured incorrectly ...surely it should not be requiring so much cache ? this is a small site with about 10 VMs to be replicated

This was working before without WAN acceleration.

There was an older VEEAM server used for version 7 that had the WAN accelerator role installed on the source side but I have removed this

Wow, that's too much. Please review this thread for the WAN cache size recommendations and make sure you have 20 GB of free space per 1 TB of source VM data on top of the specified cache size.

I agree its to much thats why I ask the question :)

The job is set to use storage based snapshots from a Dell Powervult SAN

Seeding is not turned on

I may have to remove this cache at this point and restart and see how it goes

Yes, I recommend re-consider the configured cache size and try again from scratch, if applicable. Keep us informed on how it is going.
