What's the retention of first backup with GFS

If I create a new job and enable GFS with weekly, monthly and yearly retention, will the first backup be kept for a year, month and week?

For example, if GFS is 6 weeks on Sunday, 3 Monthly on First, and 2 Yearly on January and the first job runs on a Monday in the middle of February, will I still have that very first backup in 6 months?

After reading the documentation, I think that first backup will have aged out and I'll only have 3 months of backups and will have lost the first backup even though I want to keep backups for 2 years.

Yes, you are correct. The first backup was not created in January so it does not have the yearly flag and therefore is not kept for 2 years.

To overcome this situation, you can create a onetime VeeamZIP backup with a two-year retention.
