When the Oracle log was backed up, Oracle down.

Post by Yuya »

Hello,

We are backing up Oracle VM (Oracle 12c).
Backup VM : daily
Backup Logs every : 15 minutes

When the log was backed up the other day, ORA-04030 was output and Oracle down.
The following warning was given to the event of the Oracle server.
-----
Windows diagnosed the virtual memory shortage condition. The next program consumed a lot of virtual memory.
Oravssw.exe (1608) consumed 134545895424 bytes, oracle.exe (4480) consumed 17249607689 bytes, wsmprovhost.exe (4504) consumed 175386624 bytes.
-----

Oravssw.exe consume about 13 GB of memory.
Oravssw.exe is used to get a quiesce point when backing up.
Because oravssw.exe consumed so much memory, we think that Oracle downed.

Do you know about this issue?

Yuya
