Hi,
Just a tiny question from a newbie.
We are using Veeam Backup 4.1 for a while and I saw that there is an option "Virtual Appliance" for the Backup Mode for "VMWare Storage API". It states that this mode can only be used when Veeam Backup is installed on a VM.
Is this option an interesting one, I mean, do I consider to migrate my Veeam Backup to a VM, or, do I keep my fysical server?
Regards,
Raf

Re: Where do I install Veeam Backup
Hello Raf,
If you want to use a Virtual Appliance mode, then you should migrate your backup server to a VM for sure. By the way could you tell us what job processing mode are you currently using? And what versions of ESX hosts are you running?
In addition, you may consider looking through our F.A.Q. section about all the available job modes and their requirements:

Thanks!
