Hello,
currently we use an Windows Server 2019 with veeam 12.3.2.4854
Is it possible to backup and restore domaincontrollers which are installed on Windows Server 2025 with domainlevel 16?
We plan to move to veeam linux application version 13.x in 3rd quartal, but before then our current backupserver should do the job.
Is Server 2019 sufficient to backup DC 2025 with application awareness and able to restore single items?
Thanks,
Hans

Re: Which Version needed to backup current domaincontroller
Hi Hans,
Please see the relevant section of the v12 User Guide.
Backups will work just fine, but note the highlighted element regarding restores:

Database files created by the domain controller can be opened for object recovery with Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Active Directory only if Veeam Explorer for Microsoft Active Directory is installed on a Windows machine with the same OS version or later than the version of the domain controller OS.
