Will Veeam Backup Progress OpenEdge 10b?

Post by mproksell »

Hello,

I was wondering if Veeam will properly back up a server using Progress Open Edge 10b databases? I know that Veeam will backup a SQL server properly and the mdf/ldf files won't be corrupt. I was hoping it was the same with Progress.

Thanks in advance!

Hi, is that Windows-based application and does it implement VSS writer? If the answer to either question is NO, you should use prefreeze/postthaw scripts to quiesce the application before backup (see sticky FAQ topic, or just search the forum for more info on these). Otherwise, just make sure application-aware processing is enabled in the backup job settings. Thanks!
