Anyone using "windows server backup" in Win2k8 R2 to backup their Veeam B&R server (baremetal - full backup of SQL & files)? Any thoughts on it?
Our Veeam B&R is a VM with Directpath I/O (It is a Win2k8 R2 server with Microsoft Windows Server backup installed); so we can't use B&R nor VeeamZip to back itself up (no snapshots allowed unless the VM is powered off). I know we can backup the SQL database & install a new B&R VM from scratch, then restore the database, but that gets complicated & we don't want to lose our index/history.
Thx.

Re: Windows Server Backup to backup Veeam B&R server
Any chance you can get rid of the directpath so you can threat it as a regular VM and let it backup itself?
