Hello,
Does anyone have any suggestions on how to automate Windows updates in a Veeam Backup and Restore environment? Ideally, updates should be executed when no jobs or tasks are running. When we apply our site policy for automatic updates, I consistently encounter issues with S3 repository database consistency, necessitating a manual repository rescan.
I envision two potential solutions: setting a scheduled downtime for jobs during a specific time each week and then initiating a reboot, or developing a script that checks for active jobs before performing the update.
How have others in this forum addressed this challenge?

Re: Windows update strategy
Enterprise customer here, We use Ansible to complete these tasks. We select a window to disable all jobs, Stop Veeam services, Update Windows/Linux machines, Rotate passwords and reboot the servers as part of the window.
