Wishlist : NetApp (or any other storage) - Trigger CIFS (Snap*)

Hello,

As many others, we can’t wait to finally see the NAS backup integration into Veeam but it would be nice also to trigger a snapshot/snapmirror/snapvault jobs for CIFS volumes like any regular VMware datastore and avoid maintaining within the NetApp.

Cheers Oli - this is something I wish for as well - and our key storage partners have raised to us. Many things are being researched and planned - but we are working concurrently (meaning ahead of the next planned release) on the NAS backup that was previewed last year very actively. You'll hear the milestones in the digest first, but thanks for asking for this as I too want it!

Correct. We don't do vendor-specific integrations until we have the corresponding vendor-agnostic implementation polished. So NetApp integration can only be built (potentially) after "generic" NAS backup support is released. Thanks!
