Hi All,
Is it possible to backup a Xen VM with the Windows Agent or similar and restore it over a new KVM VM?
Thanks for any input.

Re: Xen to KVM
Hi Samuel
It should work for Windows. I don't expect any issues.
Linux is another topic. Linux VMs can have issues when migrating them to other hypervisor.
I suggest to run a test with 1x windows vm and 1x Linux VM in your environment.
1) Take Backup with the Veeam Agent
2) Create a recovery media with all necessary driver included for the KVM environment
3) Restore the VM with the recovery media:

Best,
Fabian

Re: Xen to KVM
Thanks Fabian,
It was the storage drivers I was mostly concerned about.
I guess we would load the KVM bundle onto the recovery and install from there before attempting the rest?

Hi Samuel
You can also add storage driver while you are doing the recovery:
https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/agent ... er-drivers
But I suggest adding them when you create the recovery media.
Best,
Fabian
