Zabbix monitoring

Post by dcampregher »

Hello ALL.

In my enterprise we use Zabbix as the main tool off environment monitoring.

As now we have a lot oficial Veeam environments our Zabbix transferência ask me about the integration between them.

In the Zabbix share there is a template but in the description It only check the VBR Jobs and not the Veeam Agent Jobs.

Anybody has knowledge about this behavior ?

Hello,
I cannot really help you, but as the integration is not from us, it might be a better idea to ask in the Zabbix community.

Best regards,
Hannes

Since it's a powershell script triggering stuff from VBR into Zabbix, you should be able to extend it easily.

I could give it a shot (don't have Zabbix installed but I can do powershell ;-) ), do you just want the Veeam agent jobs listed and their result or is there more to it?

Hello everyone,

You can also point Zabbix to B&R event logs (Windows Event Logs on the B&R server) to catch session statuses, etc., then build some visualization/notifications in Zabbix utilizing this info. There are even some pre-built non-official packs created by Zabbix community: https://www.zabbix.com/integrations/veeam including one for Agents! I have not tested it personally, but the descriptions look good :)

Fedor

Does anyone know if there is a Zabbix 5.4 Template of this ? I've been looking and it appears to be based on Zabbix 6.4 or higher checking previous versions on the repo gives no results
https://git.zabbix.com/projects/ZBX/rep ... ation_http
I've also raised this request with Zabbix Support

Hi Damien

I recommend to discuss this with Zabbix support.
If there was a Template for an older version, Zabbix support may be able to show you how to download it.

Hi,

You mention veeam agent jobs? Are you looking at a cloud connect setup? Either way you can happily monitor it with zabbix and we do. Easiest way is a powershell script to interrogate the backup server and pull out the information you need. There are examples in the forums, but as everyone has their own way of monitoring and the items they want to pull out then it's best starting with the example powershell in the wiki and then writing your own templates to use them and display the information in the way that works best for you.
