We are also wanting to upgrade to vSphere 8.0 - the only thing holding us back is the Veeam Management Pack update.

Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
This is very problematic. At this point it appears VMWare is no longer releasing updates for 7.x, and the update from 7.x to 8.x is listed as CRITICAL. We need to be able to monitor or Virtual Environment, though.
Does the latest release of the Veeam VMWare Monitoring MPs not work at all with vSphere 8.x? If not, we really need an ETA on when this will be corrected. “Later in the year” is not acceptable. vSphere 8.x has been out for more than half a year now. There is no reason why the Veeam MPs should be taking this long to be updated. We pay a lot of money for these MPs, and expect updates to be released at the same cadence as VMWare updates. The Veeam Backup & Replication software was upgraded in plenty of time to address the vSphere 8.x changes. Why is the Veeam VMWare Monitoring solution being neglected?
I should also add that we are about to upgrade System Center to 2022. Considering the Veeam VMWare Monitoring MPs haven’t been updated in such a long time, I am unsure as to whether or not they will work with System Center 2022. Does the latest version work with System Center 2022, or will we need to wait for a new version for that as well?

Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
Maybe a bit off-topic, but vSphere 7.0 is supported until April 2025. The last release ESXi 7.0 Update 3l is from March this year.
So why do you think it's no longer receiving updates?

Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
There’s a critical update available for our vCenter Servers that was released yesterday, but it is an upgrade to 8.x. There is no 7.x upgrade available for it. I suppose it’s possible the vulnerability only exists in 8.x, but that seems unlikely.
Regardless, vSphere 8.x has been out for over half a year now. It shouldn’t take this long for Veeam to update the monitoring MPs. They supported 8.x for Veeam B&R like 5 months ago.

Yes, this work is already in progress and I cannot give you the exact ETA because the release time frame depends on the QA team (they need to finish all their tests).Grime121 wrote:Regardless, vSphere 8.x has been out for over half a year now. Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
Yesterday U1 for vSphere 8.0 has been released which fixes two CVEs which VMware classified as low severity: CVE-2023-1017, CVE-2023-1018
And those already are fixed in ESXi 7.0 since March 30th: https://docs.vmware.com/en/VMware-vSphe ... notes.html
You can be sure, VMware wouldn't leave vulnerabilities unpatched on either of the major releases.

Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
Any update on when the patch is coming on Management pack v9 so that it supports Esx 8.0 ?
This is stopping us from upgrading the rest of our vSphere upgrade.

Re: Support for VMware vSphere 8.0
The update is around the corner. Our QA team is performing the remaining regression tests, so it should be available soon.
