Veeam MP - how does it work

Hello

Is there any guide out there, that Shows how the Veeam MP works? How it gathers all the data of the vSphere Server etc?

I'm not looking for an installation guide, more about the logic behind everything.

All I can find on your link is:


• Veeam VMware Collector (Collector) — gathers topology, event and performance data from VMware systems.

• Veeam Virtualization Extensions Service (VE Service) — is used for centralized configuration of Veeam VMware Collectors, failover and load balancing control, and license distribution.

• Veeam Virtualization Extensions UI (Veeam UI) — web-based (IIS) UI for configuration of the VE Service and the managed Collectors.

• Veeam Management Pack (Veeam MP) — provide rich and flexible capabilities for VMware management, natively integrated with System Center. Advanced monitors, dashboards and reports are included out-of-box.

I was looking for something more Detail, like the agent being explained here, just for Veeam:

they explain how objects are discovered and monitored etc, it's more detailed.

I'm asking this because I have to hold a presentation about our SCOM Environment, and Veeam is a big part of it. But I don't know a lot about Veeam, so I'm looking for more Information.

We do have a lot more information on MP, including documentation, reference materials, and online training.

Please check the Technical Documentation here - http://www.veeam.com/documentation-guid ... heets.html. That page lists product guides, technical reference, datasheets and whats new docs etc.
For information on day-to-day use and customization of the Veeam MP I recommend the Operations Guide.

There is also online training at Veeam University for MP which is a good introduction to the architecture, components etc. http://www.veeam.com/management-pack-university.html
