Add comments field to cloud connect user report

Post by neilmacneil »

Hi,

This may be more of a feature request. To tie are cloud connect customers into our billing system we would like to associate a customer ID to their user name. A way we could do this would be to add the customer ID to the cloud connect user's comments section and have the comments generated in the veeamONE user report. Is this possible or could we get it added to the feature requests?

Thanks,

-Neil

Hi Neil,

Do you refer to adding tenant's description into the Cloud Connect user report? Your use case makes sense, but it might not be the best place to put this data. Since you're service provider, have you see Veeam Managed Backup Portal (a new product built for MSPs) that already has this field added to the billing engine?

On second thought, maybe it would be possible to add this capability into our custom backup reporting engine (coming in v9.5). We will discuss this internally and will see what we can do.

Thanks!

Yes, the tenant's description would be the only place we could put in a customer # and it would be perfect if we could add it to the report. We might have to add our customer's account numbers to their usernames in the meantime :/ . We are interested in VMBP but are waiting until on-prem comes out of beta.

Thanks

Ok, makes sense. You can also add this ID to the repository name. In this case you would not need to rename their login account. BTW, we fully support this "on prem" beta and you can even open support cases in our customer portal.

Hi,

Thanks for the tip, I think I might go with renaming the repository for now. Okay, that is good to know!
