(with apologizes but i can't find that I posted this before)
Forcing an ad-hoc backup to fail doesn't cause the VBR/VONE to throw an alarm and failed backup is the most important initial alarm for us. How do you recommend testing for this? Should I just schedule a backup every 10 minutes, and force it to fail sometimes? Are there other recommendations for testing an alarm thrown for failed backup?
Thank you in advance

Re: adhoc alarming?
Hi Becki,
Please explain in detail what exactly you call an "ad-hoc backup", what Veeam backup technology you are using, and what actions you've performed to cause the backup to fail. Also, please specify what is the status of the backup job in VBR.
For testing backup failure, it depends on what scenario you'd like to test, but I would simply stop the job in the UI or disable the network on the backup repository.
Thanks
