We use tags in vCenter as Business Objects for creating Protected VMs reports (Business View objects:
byBackupType/Veeam). The tags are created with the data from CMDB and only VMs that are backupType Veeam are included in the report. This ability does not exist for Protected Cloud Instances report. Do I miss something, or is the just not possible for other than on-premise reports? We use tags in AWS for EC2 instances too, but the Protected Cloud Instances does not have Business View filter capability. This renders the report useless for us.

Re: Business View for Veeam Backup 4 AWS/Azure
Hello,
That is correct currently. We are considering adding more flexible and granular filtering in future releases, will discuss internally and add it.
We can not say yet which release, but will keep you posted as soon as any change happens.

Ok, thanks. But this sounds like it would take > 1 year to be included. Which means we again have to workaround this to get the results we need for our KPIs.

Hello,
Yes, adding new sections to Business View is not a trivial task, and it will take time to be added into the product. The only filter you can apply today to the protected cloud instances report is per workload name.
We will keep you up to date about developments.
