Daily disk space report for each dept

Post by csinetops »

I utilize the built in daily disk space report to get a report of all the disk space on my VM's emailed to me every AM. I'd like to break this report apart for each of my departments and their VM's and email it to each department head that is in charge of their VM's.

Has anyone done this? I don't see a way to filter a group of VM's in that report and the rest of the reports that you can filter VM's don't contain the disk % free data I am looking for.

I believe you're referring to this report, correct? If this is the case, then you need to categorize all VMs using Business View (BV) groups. After that, just select Business View group that will match the department in your organization.

Let me know if that helps!

Once you do what you Vitaliy suggested, you need to schedule a report for each department, just changing the report scope and email address.
Thanks

Quick question. In veeam one business View I created a new static category for one of my departments. Then I created a group for that Dept. I went to work space and added the vm's that belong to that dept to the category.

When I go into veeam one reporter, in the guest free disk space report under business view objects, my new department category doesn't show up.

What am I missing?

Could you check VMs Category and Group membership in Veeam ONE Monitor > Business View section?
Do those VMs refer to the correct groups?
Thanks!

Yes, the groups show there and the VM's are in the correct groups. In Veeam one reporter the category/groups don't show under Business View Objects. Also, I deleted a category from the business view configuration and it still shows up in the Veeam One Reporter as a option. Do I need to sync something for the Business View Objects in reporter to update? I restarted the Veeam one reporter service to see if that would help but it didn't.

Business View and Reporter do synchronize, but it should happen within 10 minutes or so.
Try to run the data collection task manually and check the reports once it`s finished.
If it doesn`t help, please contact the support team.
