Feature Request: VM with no backups exclusions by folder
Currently the only way to set up exclusions for VM with no backups through the infrastructure view is by Data Center, Cluster , or Resource Pool. I have some VMs that I either do not backup or do not use Veeam to back them up. I keep these VMs together in folders so I can keep track of what is not being backed up.
It would be useful if I could create exclusions based on these folders.

Re: Feature Request: VM with no backups exclusions by folder
Hi Mike,
VM folders are not displayed in the infrastructure tree, so it wouldn't be possible to use this object in the exclusion option. However, what you can do here is categorize all the VMs via Business View rules according to their location (VM folders), then re-assign "VM with no backups" alarm to Business View group you have just created and remove assignment to VI tree for this alarm. Should do the trick!
Thanks!

I'll give that a shot.

In Business View, it does not appear that I can apply a folder to a category. I would expect to do this in the workspace tab, but from there, folder does not appear as an object type.

Re: Feature Request: VM with no backups exclusions by folder
Mike,
I guess Vitaliy meant that you can use Business view groups to combine VMs based on needed factor. For instance, there is a default category Last Backup Date which separates VMs based on their last backup date. VMs with no backups combines mentioned machines which you either don`t backup or backup with another tool.
So you can exclude this group from particular alarms.
Thanks

Re: Feature Request: VM with no backups exclusions by folder
You can categorize your VMs based on their folder via this wizard > Creating and Managing Categorization Rules. Once yo do this, just exclude the required folders from "VM with no backups" alarm.
