Is it possible to skip certain host disks from scanning

Monitoring and reporting for Veeam Backup & Replication, VMware vSphere and Microsoft Hyper-V

Is there a way to not only suppress alarms, but to stop the scanning of particular drives? My servers boot off SD cards and I don't want them even accessed, let alone reported on.
Thanks,
Chris

Hi Chris,

Unfortunately, excluding particular guest disks from getting information is not possible. We retrieve this info from VMware Tools, so I even if you exclude these disks, they still will be scanned by offline process managed by VMware Tools process.

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,
Actually, I'm using Hyper-V Server 2012, booting off a VHD on mirrored SD cards.
Hyper-V see the SD cards as D:, the VHD as C:, and my local RAID array as F:
Does that change anything?
Thanks,
Chris

Chris, now I'm a bit confused. We do not collect Guest OS disk space usage for Hyper-V VMs, as this info is not available via Integration Services.

OK. I see where I've confused things. I am talking about a host, not guest.
I posted in this thread thinking that the issue might be the same, changing settings for a host or a guest. If you want me to create a new thread, I can.
The issue is that I have host that I don't want to scan certain disks, particularly the read & write tests.
Sorry for the confusion.

Ok, now we are on the same page and I have split this topic from the original thread ;)

Unfortunately, it is not possible to skip querying WMI information for read/write counters for certain datastores anyway. BTW, these disks are accessed by Windows Perfmon, and we are using the same source for all performance data. Do you see any extra load because of the monitoring these disks with Veeam ONE?
