Monitor Dell hardware
Is it possible with Veeam ONE to monitor the hardware sensors on an Essentials-licensed standalone Dell server with a Dell-customized vSphere 7?

Re: Monitor Dell hardware
Hello Rydqvist,
In general, Veeam ONE gets all data from the hypervisor. Could you please provide a few examples of sensors you are interested in?
Please let me know what type of monitoring you are looking for: a general threshold alarms or views and graphs.
Thanks

Re: Monitor Dell hardware
Hello,
As Roman said, we get all this data from vCenter itself, for example, I have some Supermicros which are not even certified on VMware HCL, but still, it shows the Hardware sensors on vCenter:
And from there we gather all this info into Veeam ONE:
A bit more information is here: Going back to Roman's question, how are you thinking to leverage this monitoring? Let us know if you face any problems with the Custom Dell ESXi version, which should not be a problem as it is a normal VMware ESXi image with some extra plugins and drivers for Dell.
Thanks!

Re: Monitor Dell hardware
In ESXi I have some sensors with the status of "Unknown", but most are ok and showing correct metrics.
The "Unknown" sensors are making Veeam ONE send warnings, but all the rest are showing up as "Healthy" in the Veeam ONE GUI.
I disabled the warning for the "Unknown" status in the alarm "Host hardware status" and now the warning is gone.

Re: Monitor Dell hardware
Great stuff Rydqvist,
I am afraid we can not do much, if ESXi sees those as Unknown, then Veeam ONE will take them as they are. Maybe you can take that with Dell, or VMware Support to try to solve it.
But it seems that at least you have found a way to disable the warning in VONE, which is good.
Have a great day
