mounted ISO files report

Post by fraack »

Hi,

I saw a feature request from 2014 in the forum for a report which shows VMs with mounted iso files. Are there any updates regarding this topic?

Some customers are using local datastores as ISO repositories. I know there are better ways like content library. For the reason that many departmants are working with vSphere it is often that a user forget to dismount an iso file after use.
With a mounted iso file form local storage vSphere will not perform a HA failover.

So it would be great when we could run a report like this periodically.

thanks

Florian

Hello Florian,
I could neither remember or find the topic about ISO files report.
The request makes sense though. Looks like we can just add the iso information into VM Configuration Assessment report.

Don't we have something similar in the Custom Infrastructure report if you choose VM as an object and "VM Name, CD/DVD: Is mounted" as reporting properties? Did you look through that report?

You're welcome. This property has been sitting there for 2 years already :) Maybe because of your request that day.
