SQL reporter.ObjectProperty size

Post by gravasio »

Hello,
I'm getting closer to the SQL Express limit for VeeamONE database and I tried to follow KB2357 without gaining too much free space.
I've run the SQL Studio report for "Disk usage by Top Tables" and it seems that reporter.ObjectProperty table is using 4.5GB of space!
Is that normal? there is a way to shrink the table?

Regards
Giuseppe

Hi Guiseppe,

Yes, this situation may be fine (it depends on the source dataset size) so the recommendation is to move to the Standard or Enterprise editions - technically, you can upgrade the SQL edition quite easily through the built-in SQL edition upgrade procedure. Just do not forget to stop Veeam ONE services before upgrading.

The alternative is to delete more historical data, as described in the KB article, but obviously, it's not a permanent solution.

Thanks

Hi wishr.
thanks for the answer.
I asked because I have only 3 hosts and about 70Vms and I deleted a lot of historical data but that had effect only on perfsamplelow table, that is now down to about 600MB.
On the other hand the table ObjectProperty wasn't reduced at all, and i tought it wasn't normal.

Anyway If that's normak I will look into licensing a new SQLServer.
Thanks
Giuseppe

Hi Guiseppe,

Yes, even for that low number of VMs the size of the table looks expected.

The reporter.ObjectProperty table stores critical reporting data and can not be cleaned manually or even using simple scripts. To decrease the size of this table you may modify the data retention settings within the Veeam ONE Settings Utility. Please, take a look at the KB2051 for details.

I hope it helps!
