Storage Report Per VM

Post by ftbug » Nov 18, 2015 10:15 am

Hi, I was wondering if it is possible to get some sort of storage report on a per VM basis, i.e. a breakdown of each VM in a specific job in terms of storage occupied

Thanks in advance

Hi Freddie,

Do you refer to consumed storage on the production datastore or you're referring to backup repositories?

Thanks!

Hi Vitaliy,

I am referring to how much storage is occupied on the backup repository, mainly on the cloud repository from backup copy jobs

Got it! When you're saving VMs in a single backup file, it is not possible to know the size of the individual VM due to shared data blocks (deduplication). You can get this data only for the entire backup job.

Hi Freddie,
Upcoming v9 release contains a feature of per-VM backup chains (going to be supported for cloud repositories as well in later versions). And Veeam ONE v9 is to support it as well showing size of single VM backup.
Thanks!

Hi Freddie,
We are happy to inform you that Veeam Availability suite v9 has been released today, and the discussed per-VM chaining with Veeam ONE support by Veeam Backup Files Growth (v9 only) are included.
Thanks again for your input! Enjoy new release with its great features!
