Hi -
First, should Tape backup jobs count against the "Backup Immutability Status" in VeeamOne ThreatCenter?
The widget is based on the "Immutable Workloads" report, which I have carefully verified that all our Tape jobs are counted against us. I can't find any documentation or posts that mention this, and also fail to see why air-gapped Tape backups would count against our "Score".
These tape jobs are D2D2T, so after the on-prem backup runs and puts the backup files onto our immutable, it then pushes a copy to Tape.
The same servers show up twice in the report, with Disk backups (correctly) showing in the Immutable Workloads section, but then the "Mutable Workloads" section lists the exact same servers and jobs, but the Restore Points are for Tape.
There is no way to exclude Tape backups in the widget or in the report. The "Workload exclusion rule" doesn't work when using the Tape job names.
Second, the "Data Protection Status" widget I understand is based on several different reports, but I have not seen exactly which parts of which reports are put together.
- The widget states "174 out of 639 of selected workloads do not meet the specified RPO" when the widget is set to a 48 hour RPO.
With a 100 month RPO, that only drops to 169, telling me RPO is not my problem, but I have no idea what it's looking to improve on.
My direct management is looking to use the Threat Center numbers as a benchmark for improving Veeam and to present to upper management, but I can't present it as-is.
I did open Case #07557616 on Jan2.

Re: Threat Center - Immutable Status (tape jobs) and Data Protection Status
Hello TWuser,
Thanks for sharing the case #. The Threat Center generally uses the same data as the reports, including immutability and RPO properties. The support engineer should check the data consistency.
I'll check with the Support team the state.
Thanks
