veeam one failed

Post by leeg123 »

Greetings all veeam users
We use veeam 7 (free edition) monitor to keep tabs on several of our clients' VMWare esx systems. Our server is running within a VM inhouse and reaches out to various clients over port 443.
This morning our veeam reporter application which is running windows 2008 r2 server decided to stop the veeam one monitor service. Upon restart of the service we simply get
error 1067: the process terminated unexpectedly

The application event log show:

Faulting application name: VeeamDCS.exe, version: 7.0.0.949, time stamp: 0x5412e6a5
Faulting module name: ntdll.dll, version: 6.1.7601.18247, time stamp: 0x521eaf24
Exception code: 0xc0000005
Fault offset: 0x0000000000058c38
Faulting process id: 0xa08
Faulting application start time: 0x01cfe1a3ace5829c
Faulting application path: C:\Program Files\Veeam\Veeam ONE\Veeam ONE Monitor Server\VeeamDCS.exe
Faulting module path: C:\Windows\SYSTEM32\ntdll.dll
Report Id: eaf7e3cc-4d96-11e4-9313-005056a8c25b

Any clue where to begin? I tried rebooting as well as reinstalling the latest patch which is version 7.0.0.949 patch 2

Any advise is gladly appreciated

Maybe just dumb luck, but i decided to locate the log files and saw that the veeamdcs file was several hundred mb in size
i tried opening the veeamdcs file in wordpad, but wordpad was struggling to open it
hopping it would just give me a clean version of some errors i deleted that file. Anyway, once deleted, the service was able to restart.

Thanks for pointing me in that direction.

Lee,

Our logs are available in .txt format. Log path can be found in Veeam Reporter > Configuration tab > About

According to our policy, customers even with Free version (let alone evaluation period) are eligible for support. So, feel free to contact them. Thanks.

If you want to see all logs (not only from the websites) then you should open our support utility and hit the collect logs button >

Code: Select all

C:\Program Files\Common Files\Veeam\Veeam ONE Settings\VeeamOneSettings.exe
