I've installed the latest Veeam One Free and it works great if I run the Monitor client from the main server it is installed on. However, I installed the desktop client on my workstation and it will not ever connect. It just says "failed to connect to specified server". I've disabled firewall on both server (2008 R2) and my desktop (W7) to rule out port blocking. I've added my user ID to the Veeam One Administrators group on the server. I've tried using FQDN, IP address for server name. Rebooted several times.
Any ideas? I'd like to be able to run it from my desktop if possible. Can the free version run the desktop client or what can I be doing wrong?
Thanks.

Re: Veeam One Free Desktop Client won't connect
Ugh, nevermind. It was the windows firewall on the Windows 7 client. I thought I turned it off, but domain policy was overriding me. You have to add Veeam Monitor as an allowed program or disable firewall for it to work on Windows 7, I guess.
