veeam one free, no longer free?
So we have been using veeam one free edition since version 7
We just upgraded to version 9, but now we seem to be limited to monitoring 32 sockets. There are about 48 vsphere sockets in total that we monitor. The rest of the ESX servers are shoeing up on the console as excluded, with an error saying "license sockets exceeded"
Would just like some clarification on the free edition. Is it now bound to only 32 sockets once the trial key expires?
thanks
lee

Hello Lee,
As far as I know free license limitations has not changed in the newest version.
Contrary, there are new functionality available in Veeam ONE v9 free edition.
How have you upgraded to v9? Did you install a trial version first? 32-sockets is a limitation of trial license.
Thanks!

Re: veeam one free, no longer free?
Se we upgraded from 8 to 9, had to download a license, but that locked us into the 32 socket trial. But i've been advancing the date on the server to see what will happen after the license expires, in order to place it into "free" mode, and it still seems to lock us into 32 sockets, with many of the hosts still available in the console, but showing "connection problem, resources excluded" i went through server settings, and made sure nothing is excluded.
We only require the basic functionality of the free product. We monitor these veeam backup clients though emails and such. The veeam one was being used more as a courtesy, since most of these accounts are SMB running ESX essentials with one or two VMs.

You might be locked to 32-sockets if you switched from trial to free mode.
Try to download licence key for Veeam ONE Free edition here.

Yes, Nikita is correct. Trial license key does have a limitation for the number of sockets, while free version allows you to monitor unlimited number of hosts. The link above should solve the problem.
