VeeamONE Data retention for audit data

Post by sandsturm »

Hi

I tried to find out, how long data is stored in Veeam ONE. I was able to find the retention for performance data, but not sure about data used for auditing reports. Our auditing period is 2 years, this means we need to have all data required for audits for two years. These are for example: virtual machines with their daily backup status (Report: VM daily protection status), changes on veeam backup jobs, machine backup status of veeam-agent backed up machines etc.
The data retention period for performance data is set to 12 months. Is this also the required retention for non-performancedata based reports?

thx,

Hi Sandsturm,

The retention settings mentioned in this article apply to all data, including reporting data.

Thanks

In this case, I haven't a more granular option for the data retention? (Specify a retention for performance data and another retention for audit-relevant data?)
Thanks for your fast answer.

In your case, what is "audit-relevant data"?

Currently, we divide data into reporting and monitoring sets of data and some of the reports use them both, so you cannot configure different retention for them.

Thanks

Thanks for clarifying. Currently, we recommend increasing the global retention setting value for keeping the reporting data for extended periods of time.
