One of my VMs on a ESX host is triggering a Veeam alert for low disk space on a non-existent volume.
If I actually create a new volume and allocate it the driver letter that it's complaining about the error goes away, but how can I clear the alert without doing this? Seems silly to have to have an empty volume just to work around this...

Hi Andreea,
Is it a Veeam backup proxy by any chance? Is it always the same volume that triggers the alert?
Thanks!

It's not a Veeam backup proxy - and yes, always the same volume.

Hmm...what about VMware Tools? Is it updated? On a side note, do you have our latest patch installed?

VMWare tools running and up to date. I did install v8 Patch 1, however we had this same thing happen with Veeam v7. Really strange...

Hmm... do you have this disk present in the Managed Object Browser of the VM? You can get instructions on how to check it via our support team.

I do not. I only have 3 disks present in there, which correspond to the 3 VMDKs that I see via vSphere, and to the 3 drives I see in Windows.

Hey eijja,
I'm having the same issue with VEEAM v7.
I'm due to upgrade to Veam v8 patch 2 in two weeks time, but wanted to know if you had any outcome from your support case.

It was discovered that VMware was reporting wrong VM configuration and OP has opened a case with VMware. Anyway, just to confirm you're having the same problem, please contact our technical team.
