VDRO & vSphere 8.x Support

Post by micoolpaul » 1 person likes this post

Hi,

Have Veeam got a stance on VDRO v5 + vSphere 8 support?

I understand that VBR v11a doesn't support CDP with vSphere 8 and so I understand that would carry through to the VDRO product also.

Just wondering if there's any official statement on this?

Thanks,
Michael

The official statement is the same as for Veeam B&R and Veeam ONE products that are part of the VDRO installation. The official support will come with the new release. Thanks!

Correct - I would advise waiting for VDRO v6 for vSphere 8 support. Additional to the VBR limitations in this KB article, VDRO has it's own direct connection to vCenter for orchestration purposes, and the testing for vSphere 8 has been focused on VDRO 6.0 release.

However, it is supported to install the patch mentioned in the KB on any VBR 11a connected to VDRO, including the embedded VBR on the VDRO server.

Thank you for the response, you’ve hit the nail on the head there Alec, I was concerned about additional limitations above & beyond the VBR/VONE products included in VDRO. I was contemplating updating my lab to vsphere 8 but will hold off for now!
