azure VM protection

Veeam Logoby lukejf » Thu Jun 08, 2017 8:08 am

Hey Guys
We have some workloads in azure that we are looking to protect with veeam. Just wondering how everyone is going about this? If possible we would like the option to do a complete restore of a an azure vm backup into azure along with having a local copy of the VM on premise.
Also can we use endpoint backup to replicate to a cloud connect partner to enable booting such vm if there are issues in azure.

Hopefully this makes sense

Morning Luke,

Yes you can use Veeam Agent for Windows to protect windows/linux virtual machines within cloud service providers where you have no access to hypervisor.

The workstation and server license include the ability to backup to a Veeam Cloud Connect partner

Just backup at the moment i believe. Good question that, not sure if replication to CSP will come into it. I guess on the product management team can verify if its on the roadmap

It's backup only for now. We don't share our roadmap, so currently I cannot provide any comments about future releases.

However, if you agent backups to cloud repository, SP will have an ability to instantly recover such backup to Hyper-V host. So, should need be, your compute could be powered up directly from a backup in a matter of minutes.

Thanks.
