Direct Restore to Azure - Network Routing

Post by mbroaders » May 28, 2019 12:21 pm

Is it possible to ensure that direct restores to Azure route via the DR Site WAN rather than through head office in the below scenario? If a restore from a backup copy job were to occur to Azure would it go via the DR site WAN or via Head Office? DR Site has significantly faster upload speeds.

Scenario is :

Head Office
- Veeam Management Server
- Veeam Proxy
- Veeam Primary Repository

DR Site
- Veeam Proxy
- Veeam Backup Copy Repository

Hello,
according to he picture from the user guide

Image

traffic goes from your DR site to Azure if you choose a restore point from the DR site. Does it not work? Of course, routing must be set to the internet breakout at the DR site.

Best regards,
Hannes

That looks promising. We haven't implemented it yet but i wanted to make sure that traffic could go the desired route before proposing it.
