Direct Restore to Microsoft Azure Appliance

Post by BCT-Tech » Oct 14, 2016 5:55 pm

I just deployed the Direct Restore to Microsoft Azure Appliance, and am doing some testing for our network.

Are there any restrictions to this Windows Server 2012 R2 VM? Can we add additional local accounts for RDP to the Server? Can we join it to our domain?

Hi,

Yes you can, there are no restrictions whatsoever. It is called an appliance but not closed at all. The only thing is the OS and some configuration afterwards so that it can be placed in the marketplace. But you can join it to a domain, change settings, add users and so on...

Have fun ;-)

It might be worth reaching your sales representative and asking him whether you can get an access to 9.5 beta, because in 9.5 most of previously existed limitations of Direct Restore to MS Azure have been addressed. Thanks.
