FastSCP service on 443

Veeam Logoby vnewbie » Fri Sep 23, 2016 4:50 pm

Regarding the old FastSCP https://www.veeam.com/vmware-esxi-fastscp-download.html
it's trying to connect to what service on port 443?
Does a Veeam agent need to be listening there? Right now I have IIS on 443 and authentication is failing. Unsure what cert/service it needs, or maybe there's one in my services.msc that needs to be started?
I do not have Veeam deployed on my VMWare win2k8r2 yet...

Hello,

Can you please provide a bit more information on what you're trying to accomplish? Previous version of FastSCP is now included to our Veeam B&R product, so if you want to connect to ESXi hosts, then please take a look at this product instead.

On a side note, if you would like to do that for Azure, then you need to use this product > https://www.veeam.com/fastscp-azure-vm.html

Thank you!

Copy a vmdk file, or some other large file. I cannot get B&R installed anywhere since all my laptops/desktops/tablets have 4GB memory and B&R actually requires more than 4 since Windows eats /loses some (3.89 available). I heard FastSCP copies files faster than ssh, or when I export a vmdk from esx it's taking like 12 hours for 350G.

The highest supported vSphere version for old FastSCP was 4, so you will not be able to copy VMDK from newer hosts.

You can always install Veeam Backup FREE to a VM, if physical computers do not meet minimum system requirements.
