It turned out that currently you cannot use CSP MS Azure subscription with contributor role. We will investigate it further internally and make the decision, based on the results of the investigation.

I'm told from support, that it should be addressed in an upcoming version, I would guess 10 or later.

"I spoke with our RnD and QA team and what we've concluded: In future releases there will be an improvement - Veeam will be able to detect and process such scenarios. "

Most SMB purchased their Azure subscription from a Azure CSP partner. In my case, Veeam Partner, and Azure CSP vendor, it is a major roadblock.

Any development on this? We are currently blocked as well, even if using Owner role (with or without co-administrator role).

Current version: Veeam Backup & Replication 9.5.0.1922

Our tests with Subscription Owner role granted went smoothly. So, may I ask you to open a case and provide its number here? We'd like to investigate the issue experienced further. Thanks.

Our CSP provider has just elevated the tenant admin to a subscription owner, but the same fault still remains. Are there other changes I should make within Azure?

Anyone who is still following this, Veeam have identified to me this is a known limitation for Azure CSP users.

I have also been informed there is currently no information on when a solution will be implemented.

We haven't been able to confirm this issue internally on the latest product builds - with subscription owner role granted everything worked as expected. Thus, we need a support ticket ID to investigate the problem further. Thanks.

I've seen some childish piles of rubbish in my time but the literal hundreds of gotchas with Veeam continues to make us look like incompent idiots to our customers.

You sell them something that should work. Why wouldn't it just because you sell them the license as CSP? Please remind me why I'm pushing shit up hill to get us off ShadowProtect????
