We are very happy to present you our beta build of Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure.

With Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure, you will be able to securely copy your files from on-premises to Azure VMs and from Azure VMs to on-premises. Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure solves the problem of copying files to / from Microsoft Azure VMs.

Veeam FastSCP for Microsoft Azure is a standalone tool that can be easily installed on your computer and does NOT require any installation on your Microsoft Azure VM.

System Requirements

FastSCP Console
OS
· Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 or later (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
· Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later

Software
· Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0
· Microsoft PowerShell 2.0 or later (included in supported Windows versions)

Azure VM
OS
· Microsoft Windows 7 SP1 or later (32-bit and 64-bit versions)
· Microsoft Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 or later

Software
· PowerShell 2.0 or later (included in supported Windows versions)
· PowerShell Remoting must be enabled (a default setting for newly created Azure VMs).

Please note that this is designed for getting your data in and out of Microsoft Azure VMs and does NOT work for blob storage

Great tool, just tested and works just fine.
The only thing I struggled with was the Add VM config. The Host is the Azure hostname or IP address and not a local VM as I though it is (yes even I knew its an Azure tool :( ).

but other than that Excellent tools.

Hi Hal,

Thanks for the feedback. It is actually not the Azure hostname that you add but the service. If you have created a service in Azure that holds different types of things (such as VMs) then you add that name (since that is the only external IP by default you have) and the correct port. (In that service, every VM will have a different PS endpoint) and you are good to go.

We will discuss internally to make it more clearer for the end-user to understand this

Thanks

Mike

Are there any plans to include an incremental copy feature? Right now it looks like it tries to copy the entire folder again if you are doing a folder upload job.

Perry,

That is correct. We do the entire folder again. For now I am not aware of this feature being implemented or planned. If you have some good use-cases in your head (besides the obvious ones...) Please share them with us

Thanks
