veeamPN - web server not responding

Post by mcz » Mar 26, 2019 4:10 pm

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a network hub in azure but when executing the azure setup I get the following error message:

Image

Please note that I've already performed the step with the authentication code and this worked well. I'm using the following guide: https://helpcenter.veeam.com/docs/veeam ... tml?ver=10

Please advice - thank you

Hey there Michael.

I have seen that error pop up occasionally. Usually it means something has gone wrong with the configuration.

Have you attempted to redeploy from the MarketPlace?

Hi Anthony,

yes I have tried to deploy a new machine from the marketplace and left all settings as they were but still the same error message... Any logfiles I could fetch to have a deeper look at it?

Tnx!

At this stage it would be best to get a support case going and have them look through the logs.

Hi Anthony,

I've created a new case and referred to this thread, the case number was # 03484922. I felt that I've gotten misunderstood because the first suggestion was "please restart apache2 service" which doesn't help if the service itself crashes all the time. Anyway, I wasn't able to perform the steps immediately, so the case got closed automatically (which I would have tried to avoid if I was aware of it). Finally, I created a new case and mentioned the first one and before I've got any response I received the following message: "This is Veeam Support with a system generated courtesy notification. Unfortunately, due to high Support Team load we were unable to process your request and it has been archived automatically."

So what should I say? I'd like to get rid of the error but I can't because support is under high load and just deploying a new VM doesn't help (which I did before)...

Hey Michael. Can I ask what you are using Veeam PN for at the moment? Is it production?

Reason I ask, is that there is a new version about to GA very soon, and there has been a significant change to the underlying site-to-site engine... it might be worth waiting until this GAs and you have a chance to deploy it so see if it resolved your issues.

I know that is not helping you, and the automated response from Support is a little perplexing...but I think given the timeframe of the new release it be worth holding on.

Thanks for the quick response Anthony. I'm not using it for production, I just wannted to get used to it. So basically I can wait until the next version will be GA. Any idea when this would happen (approx)?

The release of v2 is imminent...though no set GA date just yet. Will be worth the wait!

setting it up from within settings rather than the pop up wizard has made it work

We get the same error on a VMWARE deploy. There is not an option to set the IP address in the OVA deploy [vmware 6.0 webgui] or directly from the webgui on the host. When the appliance boots, the login page renders using the autoconfigured IPv6 address, but it will not accept a login. The same error as listed in this thread appears. I am guessing Apache is not correctly configuring because an IP is not defined during the OVA deploy. Is it possible there a script to IP the appliance through the CLI after deployed?

Updating the netplan through the console as described in https://www.tecmint.com/configure-netwo ... in-ubuntu/ and a reboot corrected the issue.

\etc\netplan\01-netcfg.yaml

Code: Select all

network:
  version: 2
  renderer: networkd
  ethernets:
    ens160:
      addresses:
        - 10.10.10.2/24
      gateway4: 10.10.10.1
      nameservers:
          search: [mydomain, otherdomain]
          addresses: [10.10.10.1, 1.1.1.1]
