[Feature Request] Custom SAML url

Post by Erwin Linker » 1 person likes this post

At the moment when i want to configure the "Identity Provider" within Veeam Backup & Replication v13 on Windows, there is a default generated URL for "SP Entity ID / Issuer" and "Assertion consumer". We want to use a custom URL instead of the current default generated url, at this moment there is no way to change this.

Within the Veeam Enterprise Manager we can change the default URL to a custom URL.

I asked this in support and was told no.
Workaround for us was to change the server name to add a domain name that we could resolve against internal DNS although this was a pain in changing the name.
Once done it worked fine, but agree that the ability to change the name as can do in enterprise manager would make the most sense.

We would need that too. Server is still in Active Directory, so i cant just change the url. Going to Linux is also not an option, as it would need to be converted, which is queue only.

As the same feature is in other of their products I don't feel like it's a big ask.

Hi,

Anybody from Veeam can give us a answer? Is this something what is marked as a feature our? Do we need some tweaking en tuning to get it running like the VBEM?

Regards,
Erwin
