Sure backup - Proxy needs IP in customer network?

Hi,

Trying to understand why the proxy must have an IP in the customer production network?
Why can't I point it to a different network?

We want to roll this out for our customers however we don't want to have proxies point at a production network. Understand they need the gateway assigned, but not understanding the need for the additional address?

Hi,

The appliance's external address does not have to be in the production network - you can assign it to any network of your choice. The only requirements are that backup server is able to connect to the appliance and, therefore, to VMs in the virtual lab. However, if you want to provide someone with access to the virtual lab VMs from production network (link), then the appliance has to be accessible from the production VM.

Thanks
