We are experiencing an issue with a Veeam repository on an HPE StoreOnce appliance.
When we configure either of our two physical backup proxies as the gateway server for the repository, backup jobs fail. However, if we configure the virtual Veeam backup server as the gateway server, everything works normally and all backup jobs complete successfully.
The downside is that the virtual backup server has less hardware resources, so backup performance is reduced. In particular, Backup Copy to Tape jobs are running noticeably slower, and we are now several days behind on some large tape jobs.
We are not aware of any changes in the environment other than the two physical proxy servers being rebooted on Wednesday(11.June). The following Windows updates were installed on the proxy servers at that time:
* Security Update for Microsoft Windows (KB5094123)
* Servicing Stack 10.0.17763.8860
Has anyone seen a similar issue where physical Veeam proxies can no longer act as the gateway server for a StoreOnce repository after recent Windows updates, while the backup server itself still works as the gateway?
And to add more complexity; we have another repository on the same StoreOnce and everything work fine on this.

Re: Repository unavailable from proxies.
Hi an update on this:
we upgraded/patched VBR in the beginning of June, everything ran fine during upgrade, and backup ran fine for a week, and about one week later the proxies where rebooted(windows patching), and Veeam Support engineer discovered from the logs that the file ibHpStoreOnce.dll was missing from the two proxies. So it turns out this file was removed from the proxies after/during the reboot/windows patching.
Very strange, but uninstall of HPE StoreOnce Catalyst SDK on the proxies, and running the properties NNF on both of them made things work again.
