Post by Kim29 »

Hello,

It is possible to make an on-prem copy for your Azure Backups which are stored at Veeam Vault.
Starting with Veeam Backup & Replication 13.1 you can add the storage vault as an external repository to your Veeam Backup & Replication server and point a backup copy job from it to your Data Domain repository.

On egress: Vault pricing is all-inclusive, so reads are covered by the subscription instead of billed by Azure. The allowance depends on the edition: Foundation covers retrieval under a 20% fair use policy, which a backup copy job pulling your whole dataset out will likely exceed, while Advanced comes with unlimited retrieval. If you plan to copy data out to on-premises regularly you would require an Advanced edition.
