6.5 adds the capability to restore a file to the original location. This requires the person initiating the restore to enter administrator credentials according to the documentation in order to install a small agent in the VM to assist with this action.
When using the Enterprise Manager web console we can also do a file restore, but this does not require any credentials to be entered for this specific action.
Why this difference ?

Re: 6.5 file level restore - Console vs. Enterprise Manager
Andre, in fact both features work the same way and require credentials only in cases where there are no cached credentials for the particular VM (in the backup job) or credentials are invalid. When performing 1-click restore from Enterprise Manager, there are usually cached credentials available as they are required for guest OS indexing during the job and specified during job creation.
