Adding Server Problem

Post by Git »

I am new to the world of Virtualization and I thought I would get my feet way by playing around with vSphere 5 and Veeam Backup and Replication

I have vSphere 5 setup on my server and I am trying to connect to it with my Win7 desktop machine with Veeam. When I try to add a server, I am selecting VMware Sphere, adding the proper ip address but I can not get past credentials - I do not know how to add the account with admin privileges on the server. For an example, lets say the server username is > root and the password is > ABC1234

Can anybody help or point me in the right direction?

You can manage root credentials by logging on to ESXi console locally. But you have to know current root credentials for that obviously, and judging from above I am not sure you have the correct password in your hands...
