Hi.
We have Veeam backup 8 working nicely in both of our datacenters.
Out main datacenter backs up to a MSA2040 (from a 3Par).
This works very well but my retention times are only 30 days with no GFS type setups as I saw this as the 1st primary backup target.
We are now adding a StoreOnce to both of our datacenters with the aim to increase retention times and be able to copy the repository offsite
Question/suggestion please.
-From what I have read, most people with this setup would change the primary repository from the msa2040 local disk to the StoreOnce. Then we can setup the StoreOnce replication to our other site (bi-bidirectionally) and tick the offsite backup box. I'm guessing though we will still need the Backup copy jobs to implement GFS retention? So if that's the case could the msa2040 stay the primary and use the StoreOnce for the backup copy? (I hope this makes sense
-Any recommendations for HP tape devices for things like yearly backups?
Many thanks

Correct. You can keep using msa2040 as primary repository and specify StoreOnce as a secondary repository guaranteeing long-term retention via backup copy job.So if that's the case could the msa2040 stay the primary and use the StoreOnce for the backup copy?
