Advise on VM and Veeam

Post by chi-ltd »

We currently have a single host (Vmware essentials 5) and backing up the guests with veeam enterprise v6.

I'd liek to know what woudl be the best way of utilising another local host and remote host (for DR) & veeam to achive a HA and DR solution for the company?

We have 2mb link VPN to DR.
No SAN (local storage)

Thanks

I suppose, setting up replication of your VMs to the local (HA) and remote (DR) hosts is what you are talking about. Be sure to have a proxy server at the remote site and use backup repository in the source site to store replica metadata to get maximum from the new v6 architecture. Also, consider using replica seeding capability to avoid full VM data transfer across slow link.
