Application-aware failure

Post by docfc »

Hello,

I use B&R 6.5 standard with 3 esxi hosts 5.1 and Vcenter 5.

I use a single Veeam server with 1 NIC for iscsi and 1 NIC connecting to Vcenter/esxi. This Veeam server is in a workgroup.

I use SAN backup and it works well !

But application-aware does not work with Windows VM connected to our prod. domain.

I tried various combinations with no success (clemence5-root is a AD domain admin ; "UL" is the netbios name) :

Code: Select all

Failed to prepare guest for hot backup. Error: Failed to connect to guest agent. Errors: 'Cannot connect to the host's administrative share. Host: [172.24.*.2]. Account: [UL\clemence5-root]. Win32 error:Le chemin réseau n’a pas été trouvé. Code: 53 Cannot connect to the host's administrative share. Host: [fe80::dbb:7a91:7e3a:7320]. Account: [UL\clemence5-root]. Win32 error:Le chemin réseau n’a pas été trouvé. Code: 53 '

Error: Failed to connect to guest agent. Errors: 'Cannot connect to the host's administrative share. Host: [172.24.*.2]. Account: [UL\clemence5-root]. Win32 error:Le chemin réseau n’a pas été trouvé. Thanks for your help !

Please, include support case ID, as requested when you click “New Topic”.

As a workaround, instead of using Domainname\Username format you can try to use Computername\Username and see whether it helps.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Yep, since it’s a way too hard to investigate particular technical issues though the forum correspondence.

You can open a support ticket and attach all necessary logs by visiting http://cp.veeam.com.

Hope this helps.
Thanks.

Do my veeam server need an access to guest OS ?

Right now, it only has a network access to ISCSI and Vserver/ESXi.

Network access to the backed up VMs is not required.

The debug logs will surely explain why it didn't work with the domain account.
